So, if you haven’t seen us yet, we are back in the states. We started to notice our funds greatly diminish when we were in Berlin. By Paris, we knew our next destination was home. We decided to head to NYC for a week before flying into LAX. When we arrived, everyone was getting ready for Halloween and it was frigid outside. Unfortunately where we were staying was really gross and even though it was nice to visit the East Coast, it made me want to go home even more.
Anyhow, we made the most of our week by getting out everyday despite the rainy and cold weather. Angelo had never seen the Statue of Liberty, so we headed to Battery Park and took pictures from the port. Along the way we headed to the National Museum of the American Indian, which was a fascinating exhibit. One of the days that it was sunny, we went to Central Park. The leaves were turning a beautiful copper hue, it was nice to see the autumnal colors in the foliage. We also went to a dance class together and house dance practice. Lots of walking around the city window shopping and people watching. They have so many wonderful cafes and bakeries just hiding around every corner for the city. Also, took Angelo to Russ and Daughters for a wonderful lox bagel.
Next time I go back to New York, I want to stay in a hotel and go see Broadway shows. Maybe go ice skating and take tap dance class. The wear and tear of living out of our suitcases became very apparent to us when we got to the states. Although being home might be a comfortable yet temporary state as well.
