When Onisha and I set out to plan our trip around the world the one thing that sealed the deal for us to come to Japan was the Sakura (Cherry Blossoms). We had to get to Japan at just the right time to see these beautiful flowers as they only bloom for two weeks out of the whole year. The best time to catch a view of these colorful trees was at the end of March to the beginning of April. We just barely made it to see the last week of the blossom. 🙂 To the Japanese the Sakura and Hanami festival (Cherry Blossom Festival) signifies the end of winter and the beginning of spring and new life.

Beautiful pics. I really like how it looks at night.
What great shots. Can you find out the species of cherry tree? They are particularly fine. Love to follow you on your blog.
Hey Johanna! How are you? You know, it is difficult to tell which type of cherry blossoms they are as there are no signs in english. They are primarily the very light pink blossoms that we have seen here.
Wow, what great Pictures. I love the blossoms in the evening shot and totally agree with Deidre.
